Dan died July 17, 2016 of pancreatic cancer. He donated his body to WSU Medical School in hopes of helping to find a cure. His survivors include his wife of 40 years, Doris; children Heidi, Mollie, Mark, and Melinda as well as five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Hospice of Dayton. Dan lived in Huber Heights.
